What it’s all about

A podcast for people who want to have difficult conversations — without losing their relationships.

We are not here to tell you how to build muscle, count calories, or optimise your protein intake.

We are here for the conversations that happen in between.

In between sets.
In between day-to-day life and interactions.

Because the reality is — these conversations are already happening.

In gyms.
At work.
At home.
With friends.
With partners.

And if we’re not careful, they can quickly turn into arguments, misunderstandings, or silence.

This podcast exists for something different.

For people who want to have difficult conversations — without losing their relationships.

How it started

What began as conversations between a client (Sophia) and her PT (Alex) turned into something more.

Over 3 years, we found ourselves repeatedly coming back to the same kinds of topics — the ones people often avoid, tiptoe around, or argue about without really listening.

Topics that are complex, Nuanced…..and sometimes uncomfortable.

But important.

So we decided to bring those conversations out of the gym and into the world.

Not as debates or lectures.

But as real, honest discussions between two people trying to figure things out, and to find apropriate language to express themselves. .

What makes this podcast work is the contrast.

Sophia — structured, informed, grounded in workplace experience, leadership, and social context.

Alex — practical, straight-talking, rooted in real-world experience from the gym floor, business ownership, and everyday interactions.

Different perspectives.
Different lived experiences.

Same goal:

To understand why ideas are attractive — not just why they are wrong.

The Dynamic Duo

What you can expect

This is not a space for shouting matches or point scoring.

It is a space for:

  • Curiosity over certainty

  • Nuance over extremes

  • Conversation over conflict

You’ll hear us:

  • Agree

  • Disagree

  • Ask questions

  • Challenge each other

  • Change our minds

And occasionally say:

“I hadn’t actually thought of it that way.”

The convos we are having

There are certain topics that are shaping how we live, work, and relate to each other today.

Some are uncomfortable.
Some are misunderstood.
Some are polarising.

But all of them matter.

So we are talking about them!

Including:

  • Mental health and wellbeing

  • Masculinity and identity

  • Gender equality and feminism

  • Neurodiversity in the workplace

  • Race and cultural dynamics

  • LGBTQ+ experiences

  • Sexual harassment and boundaries

  • Female safety and empowerment

Not to “win” the conversation, but to understand the issue better.

Why Listen?

Because It Matters

Because the cost of getting this wrong is high.

We see:

  • Friendships breaking down

  • Couples struggling to communicate

  • Workplace tension increasing

  • Young people absorbing extreme or simplified narratives

Because you can take something away

We are all being asked to navigate increasingly complex social issues — often without the tools to do so.

This podcast is about building those tools.

We’re not here to give you all the answers.

But our RESOURCES section is a place you can start to

To:

  • Understand what the terminology is and what it means

  • Use words in the right way

  • Share concepts and ideas to have a conversation you might otherwise avoid

And ultimately:

To prove that it is possible to talk about difficult things — and stay connected.

Because we need you in the Conversation!

If you’ve ever:

  • Avoided a topic because it felt too risky

  • Disagreed with someone but didn’t know how to say it

  • Wanted to understand a different perspective without it turning into an argument

You’re in the right place.
